The Wildcats swept a doubleheader from East Peoria by the scores of 11-1 and 16-0.

Game 1

In game 1, Alex Jefferson and Adam McGinnis held the visitors to just 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 8.  Offensively,  the bats wer alive with the sounds of pinging on Home Runs by Matthew James (2) and Adam McGinnis.  Nick Heib added a double and RBIs came from Jefferson (4), James (4) , McGinnis(1) and Heib (1).

Game 2

In game 2, the Wildcats pickedup where they left off.  Solid pitching from Caleb Smith (3 Ks) and Kyle Zulz (2 Ks) kept East Peoria hitless over 5 innings.

At the plate, Matthew James connected on his 3rd home run dinger of the day with a 3 run shot in the first.  Josh Appel cleared the bases with his first homer of the season.  McGinnis homered for his second time of the day along with Turner Reid.

RBI leaders were Appel (4), James (3), Reid(3), McGinnis (2), and Chris Smickilas, Caleb Smith, Austin Aereola and Alex Jefferson each with one.

With the wins the Wildcats improved their overall record to 15 and one.

 WEST started strong when Adam hit a 2-run triple in the first inning.   Unfortunately, the WILDCATS’ bats cooled and despite some outstanding defensive plays, the boys took a loss.  WEST had 4 hits for the day.   

Tyler and Nick pitched.
