Wildcats’ bats explode in an easy win over the Panthers.

West starting pitcher, Ben Lawyer, goes two innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 2 hits.  Nick Bronson relieves in the third to finish off the shortened game, by allowing only 1 earned run on 2 hits and 8 strikeouts.

Offensively, the West bats finally came alive. Evan Mucciolo, 3 hits and a RBI; Blake Parker, 2 hits (HR with two on in the 4^th) and 4 RBIs; Nate Beal, 2 hits and a RBI; Ryan Frye, 2 hits (HR with one on in the 1^st) and 3 RBIs; Dave Watson, 2 hits and a RBI; Reed Rogers, 2 hits and a RBI; Adam Hoerner, 2 hits and a RBI; and Mitch Thomas, 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Dante Ruffin (1 on in the 2nd) and Steven Lorenz ( solo in the 5th) also connected for their first HRs of the season.

Normal West will play next at Dozer Park (Peoria) vs. Limestone on Friday, 7:30 pm.

Wildcats score early and often in cruising to a win over the Panthers.

West receives a fine pitching performance from Noah Johnson who goes the distance giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 5 strikeouts. Offensively, the Wildcats were led by Evan Mucciolo and Reid Birlingmair, with two hits apiece.

Normal West will play next at Decatur Eisenhower on Thursday, 4:30 pm.

5-03-2014 vs. Champaign Centennial Chargers

Wildcats experience a tough day with another walk off loss to the Chargers.

The Wildcats use three pitchers in a loss to Centennial.  Nick Bronson started the game and pitched 3.1 innings, allowing 8 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 strikeouts.  Ryan Frye finished off the 4^th, pitching .2 innings and allowing no hits and no earned runs. Evan Mucciolo suffered the tough loss, allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings.

West managed to have several players with multiple hits once again. Cody Rogers, Ryan Frye, and Dave Watson each had two hits to contribute to the offensive outburst. Rogers had a single and a double with 4 RBIs.  Frye had a single and a HR with one on in the 5^th, two RBIs.  Dave Watson also delivered with 2 singles.

Wildcats play again on Tuesday, May 6th vs. Decatur Eisenhower , 4:30 P.M.
