Wildcats Commit to College

Normal West Wildcats Reid Birlingmair and Mitch Fairfield have recently made commitments to continue their baseball careers in college at the Division I level.  Reid, a senior infielder in the (class of 2015),  has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago while Mitch, a junior catcher (class of 2016), has committed to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

West starting pitcher, Noah Johnson, goes all 5 innings for the win, allowing 1 hit and 8 strikeouts.

Offensively, the Wildcats were by Ryan Frye, 3 hits, including a solo shot to led off the 1st and  Steven Lorenz with 3 hits and 2 RBIs.  Mitch Thomas also contributed on Senior Night with 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

West will play again on Saturday, vs Lyons Township, 11:00 A.M. (JV games)
