The WILDCATS  started the game strong.  Defensively, in the first inning, with runners on first and third and one out, Chris Smiciklas caught one of the Chargers trying to steal second.  The next batter grounded out and their runner was left stranded at third. Still in the first but offensively, both Reed Rogers and Chris Smiciklas hit doubles, and with other hits, 5 WILDCATS scored.   In the third, Caleb Smith hit a double to send the walked Chris Smiciklas home.  Back on defense, in the fourth inning, Kevin Myers made an awesome throw to catcher Josh Appel and Josh made a great head’s up/glove up  tag as the runner tried to leap over him to get home!

The game grew tense in the fifth inning when WEST gave up 5 runs and the score was was tied at 6.  WEST answered back in the bottom of the inning, as Turner Reid hit a HOMERUN  to put the WILDCATS  back in the lead.

In the sixth, the Chargers had bases loaded and no outs when Tyler Ort came in to pitch.   Tyler faced four batters – pop up to the pitcher, a hit which scored one run, a strikeout, and a ground out.  Three runners were left stranded and the game was tied at 7.  In the bottom of the inning with no time remaining, WEST needed just one run for the win.  Everybody came out ready to hit – Reed Rogers, Josh Appel, and Chris Smiciklas all got on base.  When it was his turn, Turner Reid stepped up to the plate and hit a 3-run walkoff  HOMERUN!!!

 WEST WILDCATS WIN!!  10-7
