Wildcats shutout Hawks for ninth win of the season.

 

Tanner Rutledge pitched the shutout, going 5 innings giving up 3 hits, 4 strikeouts, 3 walks and allowing no runs.  Reid Birlingmair led the Wildcats with 3 hits (1 double), and 2 RBI’s, Noah Johnson added 2 hits with 4 RBI’s.  David Krueger and Kevin Baar each had two hits.  The Wildcats scored 15 runs on 13 hits.  West is now (9-2) and will be at home again on Wednesday, April 4th against Olympia.

Wildcats win first of doubleheader against host Metamora.

 

Mitch Thomas pitched 6 strong innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, striking out 2 to earn the win.  Noah Johnson came in a closed out the save allowing just 2 hits.  Blake Parker added a double as the Wildcats improved to (7-2).

West victorious against Pirates in extra innings!

Steven Lorenz went 6 2/3 innings allowing only two hits giving up one run.  Zach Inselmann pitched the final 3 1/3 innings to get the win.  Inselmann struck out 3 while allowing just one hit.  Ryan Frye had 2 doubles to pace the Wildcats.  Adam Hoerner and Reid Birlingmair both had two hits apiece.  The Wildcats scored 3 runs in the in the top half of the tenth inning to secure the win.  The Wildcats are now (8-2) on the season and will be in action again on Monday April 2nd at home.

West wins at Rantoul, Frye and Birlingmair both go yard to pace the Wildcats.

 

Normal West’s bats came alive scoring 11 runs in the first inning.  Ryan Frye and Reid Birlingmair both homered in the first inning.  Evan Jefferson added a triple; Tanner Rutledge and Adam Hoerner both had doubles.  Rutledge had 3 hits, Frye and Jefferson both contributed two hits apiece.  Ryan Frye got the win, going 2 innings, giving up 5 hits, 7 runs.  David Krueger pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 4 hits, striking out 3.  Zach Inselmann pitched 1 1/3 innings, striking out 2 and allowing only one hit.  Noah Johnson closed out the seventh inning to get the save.  West is (6-2) on the season.  The Wildcats are in action at Metamora with Ottawa on Saturday, March 31st.
