NCWHS jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a Jake Marti homerun and never looked back, coasting to a 7-3 conference victory against Peoria Richwoods at Parkside field Saturday morning.

Marti (homerun, single, 2 RBI), McCade Brown (2 singles, 3 RBI), Holden Lueck (2 singles), and Ben Smith (2 singles) led the way for the Wildcats, with Tyler Ott (single, RBI) and Zack Jones (single, RBI) also coming up big in the victory.  Brown also added a pair of sparkling diving catches in centerfield to seal the win for the Cats.

Ben Smith pitched another gem for NCWHS, holding the Knights scoreless through five and lasting 6 2/3 – scattering six hits, recording five strikeouts, and allowing just three earned runs.  Chase Hacker came in to make quick work of the final out for the Wildcats.

NCWHS returns to action for their final home stand Tuesday afternoon at 4:30pm against Olympia.
