The Maroons bounce back to defeat the Wildcats in game two with a big 5th inning.
West used plenty of pitching in game two to get ready for next week’s conference games vs. NCHS. Reed Rogers threw one inning, allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, and 2 strikeouts. Ben Lawyer was the first relief pitcher, throwing 1 inning, allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs. Mitch Thomas was next, going 2.2 innings, and giving up 4 hits, 4 earned runs, and 2 strikeouts. Noah Johnson was next, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run in 1.1 innings. The final pitcher for the Wildcats was Nick Bronson who threw the 7th, giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Wildcats were led by Reed Rogers and Ben Lawyer with two hits apiece. In the 3rd inning, Ryan Frye connected for his 3rd homerun of the season after a 2-out hit by Cody Rogers.
Wildcats play again on Tuesday, April 22, vs. NCHS at the Corn Crib, 6:30 P.M.
