5-11-2011 vs Bloomington

Normal West (13-4) was victorious against Bloomington by a score of 8-4.  Zach Breen pitched five solid innings, giving up three hits, one run and five strikeouts.  Tanner Rutledge pitched 2/3 of an inning, giving up three hits, three runs striking out two.  Zach Inselmann came in and got the final four outs, allowing only one hit with three strikeouts.  Inselmann hit his first homerun of the season with a three run shot in the sixth inning.  He also had three hits with five RBI’s.  Ryan Frye and Mitch Thomas both had two hits.  Frye had a double with one run batted in.  Thomas added two RBI’s.  Normal West plays at home on Thursday against U-High.

5-7-2011 vs Washington

Normal West (12-4) was victorious against Washington in the first game of a doubleheader.  Ryan Frye got the win going four innings, allowing four hits, four runs, striking out two.  Mitch Thomas got the final three outs, allowing no base runners and striking out one.  Tanner Rutledge led the Wildcats, hitting for the cycle (single, double, triple and home run) and driving in seven runs.  Rutledge hit his first homerun of the season in the third inning.  Jared Graf also went 4 for 4 with a double and four RBI’s.  Zach Breen had three hit, with a triple and drove in two.  Mitch Thomas had two doubles while driving in one run.  Ryan Frye hit a home run in the third inning.

The Wildcats suffered the loss in the second game at Washington.  Steven Lorenz pitched two innings, allowing four hits, seven runs and three strikeouts.  Noah Johnson pitched three innings, giving up six hits, five runs, striking out one.  Zach Inselmann pitched one inning, allowing two hits, one run and striking out two.  Seth Wiseman drove in three of the Wildcat runs on two hits.  Evan Jefferson had two doubles driving in one run.  Ryan Frye had two hits, one double.  Normal West falls to (12-5).  The Wildcats are back in action on Wednesday, May 11 at home against Bloomington.

Normal West (11-4) was victorious Wednesday against Urbana.  Ryan Frye pitched two innings, allowing one hit, one unearned run, striking out one.  Mitch Thomas pitched two innings, giving up two hits, one run, striking out one.  Noah Johnson pitched two innings, allowing no hits, no runs and striking out one.  Zach Inselmann pitched the final inning, striking out the side.  Blake Parker went three for three with three RBI’s.  Blake hit a three run homerun in the fourth inning.  Ryan Frye also went three for three with a double and one RBI.  Normal West is in action again Thursday at home verse Dunlap
