Wildcats leave runners in scoring position and lose a close one to the Ironmen.

West received another fine pitching performance from Reid Birlingmair who went the distance allowing 6 hits, 2 earned runs, and 6 strikeouts.

Offensively, the Wildcats had three different players with multiple hits.  Ryan Frye, Reid Birlingmair, and Mitch Thomas each contributed with two hits.

Wildcats play again on Saturday, April 26, vs. Oak Forest, V/JV, 11:00 A.M.

Reed Rogers’ pitching performance leads the Wildcats over the Ironmen in extra innings.

The Wildcats received a tremendous pitching performance from Reed Rogers who went 8.1 innings, allowing only 6 hits, 0 earned runs, and 8 strikeouts.  Rogers gave way to Steven Lorenz in the 9th to close out the game for the save.

Offensively, the West was led by Ryan Frye with two hits, double, RBI, and Reed Rogers with a hit and 2 RBIs.  Tanner Rutledge came through in the 9^Th with a big hit and RBI as well.  Great win!

The Maroons bounce back to defeat the Wildcats in game two with a big 5^th inning.

West used plenty of pitching in game two to get ready for next week’s conference games vs. NCHS. Reed Rogers threw one inning, allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, and 2 strikeouts.  Ben Lawyer was the first relief pitcher, throwing 1 inning, allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs. Mitch Thomas was next, going 2.2 innings, and giving up 4 hits, 4 earned runs, and 2 strikeouts.  Noah Johnson was next, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run in 1.1 innings.  The final pitcher for the Wildcats was Nick Bronson who threw the 7^th, giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 strikeouts.

Offensively, the Wildcats were led by Reed Rogers and Ben Lawyer with two hits apiece.  In the 3^rd inning, Ryan Frye connected for his 3^rd homerun of the season after a 2-out hit by Cody Rogers.
