Wildcats win a thriller with a walk-off suicide squeeze.

The Wildcats received another fine pitching performance from Reid Birlingmair.  Birly competed for 6.2 innings allowing 9 hits, 4 runs, and 10 strikeouts before giving way to Steven Lorenz for the final out.  Lorenz only needed four pitches to earn the win.

West continues to be led by junior, Cody Rogers at the plate.  Cody finished with two hits and a RBI.  In the 7th, Ryan Frye led off with a single to left, stole 2nd, an intentional walk to Birly, a sacrifice bunt by Reed Rogers, another intentional walk this time to Blake Parker and then Mitch Thomas’s suicide squeeze heroics to give the Wildcats their 9th win of the season.

West will play again tomorrow at O’Fallon; game time 1:00 P.M. (V/JV)

After starting out slowly, the Wildcats won a slugfest over Springfield.

The Wildcats starting pitcher, Nick Bronson, threw 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits and 2 strikeouts.  Reed Rogers relieved in the 5th, earning the win, and allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 3 strikeouts.

Once again, West had several players with multiple hits.  The offense was led by Cody Rogers (2 hits, 4 RBIs), Reid Birlingmair (2 hits), Blake Parker (2 hits, double, RBI), and Mitch Fairfield (2 hits, RBI).

Normal West will play next on Friday vs. Chatham Glenwood, 4:30 P.M.

Wildcats battle back from loss with a complete game pitching win from Steven Lorenz.

West received a complete game gem from pitcher, Steven Lorenz, in game 2.  Lorenz goes 7 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, and 2 strikeouts.

At the plate, the Wildcats were led by three hitters with multiple hits.  Adam Hoerner, Reed Rogers, and Mitch Fairfield each had two hits, including a double by Fairfield.
