Wildcats struggle in opener and fall to Pekin.

Noah Johnson threw 4 scoreless innings, before allowing 6 runs, 3 earned in the 5th inning.  Johnson gave up 7 hits, struck out 3 and walked 1 in 4 2/3 innings.  Mitch Thomas came in and pitched 1 1/3 innings.  Thomas allowed 3 hits, 4 runs all earned, struck out 2 and walked 4.  Steven Lorenz threw a perfect 7th inning.  Reid Birlingmair led the Wildcats offense with a double on 2 hits.  Ryan Frye also added a double for the Wildcats who had 6 hits in the game.

Class of 2014 Wildcats sign to play in college

Class of 2014 Wildats Reed Rogers and Ryan Frye have each recently signed a letter of intent to continue their baseball career at the next level.  Rogers, a corner infielder, has chosen Heartland Community College.  Reed batted .424 with 1 home run and 27 runs batted in last year, his second as a varsity starter.  He also will be a top pitcher for the Wildcats again this spring, coming off a 4-0 record with a save and 1.70 ERA.   Frye, an outfielder, will continue his career at Evangel University, an NAIA school located in Springfield, Missouri.   Ryan batted .451 with 4 home runs and 38 runs batted in last year.

2013 Seniors named to Louisville Slugger All-American Team

2013 Wildcat seniors Matthew James, Alex Jefferson and Adam McGinnis have been named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger High School All-American team.  James and McGinnis were named to the first team as a Multi-Position Player and Catcher respectively, while Jefferson earned second team honors as an Outfielder.  This distinguished achievement honors elite high school players from across the country.
