Wildcats struggle in loss to Oak Forest.

West starting pitcher for the day was Steven Lorenz, who went 4 innings, giving up 6 earned runs on 6 hits. Nick Bronson relieved in the 5th, allowing 1 earned run on no hits. Mitch Thomas came on for the last two innings, allowing no earned runs and no hits.

Offensively, the Wildcats had two different players with multiple hits.  Ryan Frye and Reid Birlingmair each contributed with two hits. Frye connected for a HR and 3 RBIs in the 5th inning after a base hit by Tanner Rutledge and a double by Cody Rogers.

Wildcats play again on Thursday, May 1st vs. Rantoul, 4:30 P.M.

Wildcats leave runners in scoring position and lose a close one to the Ironmen.

West received another fine pitching performance from Reid Birlingmair who went the distance allowing 6 hits, 2 earned runs, and 6 strikeouts.

Offensively, the Wildcats had three different players with multiple hits.  Ryan Frye, Reid Birlingmair, and Mitch Thomas each contributed with two hits.

Reed Rogers’ pitching performance leads the Wildcats over the Ironmen in extra innings.

The Wildcats received a tremendous pitching performance from Reed Rogers who went 8.1 innings, allowing only 6 hits, 0 earned runs, and 8 strikeouts.  Rogers gave way to Steven Lorenz in the 9th to close out the game for the save.

Offensively, the West was led by Ryan Frye with two hits, double, RBI, and Reed Rogers with a hit and 2 RBIs.  Tanner Rutledge came through in the 9Th with a big hit and RBI as well.  Great win!
