4-10-2010 Freshman Wildcats swept Chargers

4-10-2010  Freshman Wildcats vs. Champaign Centennial
 
 The Wildcat Freshman team (6-0) swept a double header over Champaign Centennial by the scores of 23-3 and 16-4.

Game 1
 
Matthew James pitched 2 scoreless innigs, striking out 4.  Matt Hunsaker and Kyle Zulz finished the game limiting the Chargers to just 3 runs.
 
Hitting stars included Alex Jefferson who went 3 for 3 including 2 home runs and 3 RBIs.  Adam McGinnis went 3 for 3 with 5 RBIs.  Kevin Meyers went 2 for 2 (2-doubles) with 2 RBIs and Austin Arreola clearing the bases with a grand slam.

Game 2:

Alex Jefferson pitched 2 scoreless innings, striking out 4.  Tyler Ort and Nick Heib finished the game allowing just 4 runs over 4 innings.

Alex Jefferson had two hits and 3 RBIs including hitting the his 3rd home run of the day.  Matthew James went 3 for 3 (2 doubles) and 2 RBIs.  Adam McGinnis went 3 for 5 including a 3 run home rune and had 6 RBIs.  Tyler Ort was 3 for 3 with 1 RBI.

Logan Park made a successful recovery from his broken wrist and played right field.

Jacob Evans was flawless handling the scoreboard duties.  That advanced math is really starting to pay off.

A special thanks to our concessions crew lead by the head chef Marty Smith, baker extraordinaire Cindy Smith and organizer Denise James.  The between games rush was handled swiftly with the help of Jay and Brenda Heib, Sheila Zulz and Brenda Evans.  Also, we want to thank Elaine Hunsaker to quickly running to the store for more chips.
