Wildcats lose tough one in extra innings.

After falling behind 6-0, the Wildcats clawed their way back with a 5 run 6^th and 3 run 7^th to tie the game before losing in extra innings to Lincoln. Noah Johnson started for the Wildcats, going 4 innings allowing 5 runs on 6 hits.  Johnson struck out 4 and walked none.  Steven Lorenz threw 2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, striking out 2 and walking 2.  Nick Bronson took the loss pitching the 7^th and 8^th innings.  Bronson allowed 1 hit, striking out 4 and walking 6.  Offensively, the Wildcats were stymied for the first 5 innings, before a 5 run 6^th inning outburst.  Led by Cody Rogers, Reid Birlingmair and Adam Hoerner all with 2 hits apiece.  Rogers had a 2 run homerun in the 7^th inning.  West falls to (3-4).  Next game is at home against Pekin on Tuesday, April 1^st at 4:!5 pm.

West Falls to Ranked Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin. 

Normal West suffered its second straight loss of the young season on Friday in Springfield.  Reid Rogers took the loss going 4 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits, 6 runs all earned.  Rogers struck out 6 and walked 3.  Ben Lawyer pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, giving up 5 hits, striking out 3 while giving up 3 runs.  The Wildcats could not get the bats going getting only 3 hits in the night cap.  West falls to (3-3), their next game is Saturday against Lincoln Railsplitters at Normal West Field.

West gets struck by Thunderbolts.

Reid Birlingmair went 5 innings allowing four runs, two earned on six hits,  Birlingmair struck out 1 and walked four.  Noah Johnson pitched the 6^th inning allowing two hits, 1 run.  Noah struck out 1 and walked 1.  Mitch Thomas closed the game allowing 1 run on 1 hit and walking two.  Normal West could not get the bats going, Cody Rogers was thrown out at home trying to score from second on a Reed Rogers single to right field.  Normal West dropped their record to (3-2).
