Wildcats jump out to big early lead only to hang on over the Eagles.

The Wildcats received a good starting performance from Noah Johnson before a struggle in the 6^th.  Johnson went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 13 hits and 4 strikeouts.  Mitch Thomas came on in relief during the 6^th to finish off the game, allowing only 1 hit in 1.1 innings.

Offensively, the West had four different players with multiple hits.  Evan Mucciolo, Ryan Frye, Mitch Fairfield, and Tanner Rutledge each contributed to the Wildcat outburst.  Fairfield led the way with 4 RBIs.

Wildcats play again on Saturday, May 3rd at Champaign Centennial, 10:00 A.M.

Wildcats struggle in loss to Oak Forest.

West starting pitcher for the day was Steven Lorenz, who went 4 innings, giving up 6 earned runs on 6 hits. Nick Bronson relieved in the 5^th, allowing 1 earned run on no hits. Mitch Thomas came on for the last two innings, allowing no earned runs and no hits.

Offensively, the Wildcats had two different players with multiple hits.  Ryan Frye and Reid Birlingmair each contributed with two hits. Frye connected for a HR and 3 RBIs in the 5^th inning after a base hit by Tanner Rutledge and a double by Cody Rogers.

Wildcats play again on Thursday, May 1^st vs. Rantoul, 4:30 P.M.

Wildcats leave runners in scoring position and lose a close one to the Ironmen.

West received another fine pitching performance from Reid Birlingmair who went the distance allowing 6 hits, 2 earned runs, and 6 strikeouts.

Offensively, the Wildcats had three different players with multiple hits.  Ryan Frye, Reid Birlingmair, and Mitch Thomas each contributed with two hits.
