The NCWHS Wildcats jumped out to an early lead on Lincoln and never looked back, coasting to an 11-1 victory Monday.

An RBI single by Jake Marti, a two-run double by Ben Smith, and an error in the first inning – along with an RBI single by Marti and an RBI double by Smith in the second inning – supplied the early offense for the Wildcats.

Marti racked up four RBIs on three hits, with Smith adding four more RBIs on a pair of doubles for NCWHS.  Tyler Ott and Jake Rutkowski also doubled for the Wildcats, with Ott, Ryan Weber, Holden Lueck, and Max Deffenbaugh all adding base hits to round out the offense.

Lincoln’s lineup had no answer for Chase Hacker.  Lincoln managed just one hit off Hacker, who allowed no earned runs, and struck out six during his three innings of work.  Lueck closed out the game for the Wildcats, allowing no earned runs and recording a pair of strikeouts.

The NCWHS Freshman Wildcats play their next game at Peoria Notre Dame on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm.
