NCWHS won their fourth straight Thursday evening behind a Ben Smith walkoff single to defeat Dunlap 10-9 at Parkside field.

Smith (double, single, RBI), Jeremy Fischer (3 singles, RBI), and Mark Ogden (double, single) led the offensive attack for the Wildcats.  Tyler Joaquin (single, 2 RBIs), Jake Rutkowski (single, RBI), Tyler Ott (single, RBI), McCade Brown (single), and Jake Marti (single) also contributed key hits in the victory.

Joaquin started on the hump for the Wildcats, scattering five hits, recording three strikeouts, and allowing just two earned runs in 3 1/3 innings of work.  Smith closed down the remaining 3 2/3 innings for the Cats, also giving up five hits, ringing up four more strikeouts, and one additional earned run.

NCWHS returns to action at Parkside field next Wednesday at 4:30pm against cross-town rival Bloomington High School.

NCWHS continued their winning ways, registering a 12-2 victory over Urbana Wednesday night at Parkside field.

The Wildcats pounded out two more homeruns, bringing their total to seven over the past three games.  Jake Rutkowski (homerun, single, 5 RBIs) and Tyler Ott (homerun, 3 singles, 3 RBIs) led the way for the Cats, with Jeremy Fischer (double), Jake Marti (2 singles, RBI), Max Deffenbaugh (single, 2 RBIs), Zack Jones (single, RBI) and McCade Brown (single) all adding key hits.

Ott also dominated on the mound, giving up just one earned run and ringing up seven strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings of work.  Brown came in to close down the final 2/3’s for the Wildcats.

NCWHS returns to action at Parkside field Thursday at 4:30pm against Dunlap in a non-conference match-up.

NCWHS picked up right where they left off over the weekend, pounding three more homeruns in a 9-1 victory over Tri-Valley at Parkside field Monday evening.

Jeremy Fischer (2 homeruns, 2 RBIs) led the hit parade with solo homeruns in the 1st and 3rd innings for the Wildcats, with Jake Marti (1 homerun, 2 RBIs) adding a 2-run shot in the fourth.  Jake Rutkowski (double, single, RBI), Ben Smith (2 singles), and Chase Hacker (double) also came up big for the Cats – with Tyler Ott and McCade Brown adding key base hits in the win.

Marti recorded the win for the Wildcats, scattering seven hits, recording two strikeouts, and allowing no earned runs in six innings of work.  Holden Lueck came in to close down the seventh for the Cats, ringing up one additional strikeout.

NCWHS will look to stay hot when they take on Urbana Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm at Parkside field.
