The NCWHS JV Wildcats continued their winning ways, besting Central Catholic 11-1 in 5 innings Monday evening at Normal West.

McCade Brown had another great outing for the Cats, pitching a complete game and ringing up eight strikeouts while surrendering only two hits and one earned run.

Brown (double, 2 singles, RBI) also led the way at the plate for West, with Jake Rutkowski (2 singles, sac fly, 2 RBIs), Jake Marti (double), Ben Smith (single, RBI), Tyler Ott (single, RBI), Chase Hacker (single, RBI), Jeremy Fischer (RBI), and Holden Lueck (RBI) all coming up big in the victory.

The Wildcats will look to keep their streak alive Thursday afternoon when they return to the field at 4:30pm to face Sacred Heart Griffin at Normal West.

The Wildcats fell behind early, but roared back to defeat Lincoln 9-5 in the first game of their double-header Saturday in Normal.

The Wildcats continued their strong pitching this season, with Mark Ogden starting on the hill and notching ten strikeouts, scattering five hits, and spreading five earned runs over 5 innings of work.  Tyler Ott was dominant in relief, securing the save and ringing up four more strikeouts over the final 2 frames.

Ott (double, single, 3 RBIs) and Jeremy Fischer (2 singles, RBI) led the way for the Wildcats offense, with Ogden (single, RBI), McCade Brown (single, RBI), and Jake Rutkowski (single, RBI) also driving in runs.  Jake Marti (single), Holden Lueck (single), and Ben Smith (single) stayed hot while contributing to the team’s first victory.

NCWHS also took the second half of their double-header 11-1 against Lincoln on Saturday.

Zach Jones was nearly unhittable on the mound for the Wildcats, working 5 strong innings while recording ten strikeouts and allowing just two hits and one earned run.  Jake Rutkowski closed it down for NCWHS, collecting two more strikeouts in 1 inning of relief.

Chase Hacker (2 singles, RBI), Ben Smith (2 singles, RBI), and Jeremy Fischer (2 singles, RBI) provided the offense for the Cats, with Matthew Pritchett (single, 2 RBIs), Jones (single, 2 RBIs), Camden Scwharz (single, RBI), Max Deffenbaugh (single), and Ben Heberer (RBI) also coming up big in the victory.

The Wildcats will look to extend their winning streak when they return to the field Monday afternoon at 4:30pm to face Central Catholic on the NCWHS JV baseball field.

Wildcats use hot bats to run away from Rock Island

The Wildcats used 12 hits from 10 different players along with 12 stolen bases and the pitching of Nate Beal, Cole Dillon and Owen Ericson to cruise to a 14-5 victory.  A first inning 2 run single to center by Brett Kirkwood set the tone.  The Wildcats broke the game open in the fifth inning with an RBI double by Matt Ogden, RBI single by Beal and a two run double by Dillon.  The hits kept on coming in the top of the seventh with an RBI double by Brayden Nave and RBI singles by Kyler Stork and Sam McDowell.  Defensively the seventh inning was highlighted by a 6-4-3 double play by Beal, Stork and Nave.

West plays host to Lincoln on Saturday.
