Normal West suffers two losses to Mattoon on Saturday.

Zach Inselmann pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 3 hits and striking out 1.  Noah Johnson came in and pitched the final 2 2/3 innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 1.

Normal West could not help Mitch Thomas who pitched a great game.  Thomas allowed 1 run on 6 hits striking out 6.  Normal West could not get any timely hitting with runners in scoring position.  The Wildcats were held to just 3 hits.  West is now (20-7) on the season.

Normal West beats rival Normal Community 3-2 to improve to (18-6).

Steven Lorenz got the win against Normal Community going 6 2/3 innings, allowing just 5 hits with 2 runs, striking out 2.  Noah Johnson came in and got the save retiring the only batter he faced.  Ryan Frye led the Wildcats with 3 hits, one a double and had and RBI.  Blake Parker also contributed 2 hits and had the game winning RBI in the sixth inning.  West next plays Saturday at home against Mattoon.

Normal West suffers tough loss in 9 inning battle at East Peoria.

 

Adam Hoerner continued his hot hitting, with two hits, one a double to pace the Wildcats.  Tanner Rutledge pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned and 5 strikeouts.  Mitch Thomas pitched that last 3 innings, giving up 4 hits, 4 runs none earned and striking out 2.  The Wildcats lost the heartbreaker in the bottom of the 9th after taking a 3 run lead.  West is now (16-5) and plays Saturday against Centennial.
