West bounces back in second game with win over visiting Moline Maroons.
Reed Rogers and Reid Birlingmair combined to throw a 1 hit shutout against the visiting Maroons. Rogers pitched 4 scoreless innings, allowing just 1 hit with 5 strikeouts and 5 walks. Birlingmair closed the final two innings with no hits, 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. The Wildcats scored 10 runs on 9 hits. Led by Mitch Fairfield, Reed Rogers and Mitch Thomas who each had 2 hits. Reid Birlingmair and Ryan Frye both had 2 run homeruns while Tanner Rutledge added a solo shot in the 6th inning. Fairfield, Birlingmair and Frye all had 2 RBI’s apiece, while Rogers and Rutledge each had 1 RBI. The Wildcats next game will be at Springfield on Tuesday, March 25th.
