NCWHS rallied to pull within a run in the top of the fourth, but couldn’t quite get over the hump – falling 6-3 to Central Catholic Friday evening at McGraw Park.

Chase Hacker and Jake Rutkowski combined for a solid pitching performance for the Wildcats, with Hacker starting on the bump and going three innings – registering two strikeouts and allowing just three earned runs.  Rutkowski closed out the final three innings for the Cats, giving up no earned runs and logging three additional strikeouts.

Rutkowski (2 singles, RBI), Tyler Joaquin (double, RBI), Jake Marti (single, RBI) and Zack Jones (double) led the offense for the Wildcats, with Hacker and McCade Brown adding base hits in the loss.

The NCWHS Freshman Wildcats play their next game at home against U-High Tuesday afternoon at 4:30pm.
